About us

Hello and welcome to Health Ambition. My name is Helen and I'm on a mission to give you simplified and actionable health and nutrition advice.

If you are a new reader and want to get started on your health journey today, check out our Getting Started Page.

Health Ambition was established in 2012 with the goal to provide easy to understand health and nutrition advice that makes a real impact. I was always frustrated seeing too many health sites fail to provide actionable information to their readers.

I wanted Health Ambition to be different and I made a commitment to making sure our advice can be followed by regular people with busy lives, not just Hollywood celebrities with personal trainers and personal chefs.

My Story

I grew up never really giving too much thought about my weight. I had a very average childhood. It wasn't until I went to college that I first started to put on some weight (the dreaded Freshman 15).

After I got married, I kept putting on more and more weight. It was such a gradual thing that I never really noticed it until one day my best friend thought I was pregnant! That was the final straw for me and since then I've really transformed my health, losing weight, eating better and generally feeling great.

I'm also really careful about what food I give to my kids. Not so long ago, I would happily give them processed foods or take them to a local burger joint. That has all changed now, and they are growing up to be such wonderful children.

It took a lot of trial and error to get where I am today, and I'm so grateful that I get a chance to share my insights with so many people. In the years since we started, my team and I have helped millions of people lead healthier lives and progress towards their own health goals.

Today's modern lifestyle is filled with cheap and unhealthy foods. These are causing real health problems for millions of people

Fact:

The Average American eats at McDonalds more than 1,800 times in his/her life.

ABC

Given that there is so much information (and mis-information) out there with regards to health, we at Health Ambition have set out some clear principles that we strive to abide by.

This is so we can provide you with a single place to get the health and nutrition advice, without all the confusion that you might find elsewhere.

What we do

  • Simplify complex health advice
  • Give realistic expectations
  • Write for real everyday people with busy lives
  • Use scientific evidence to back our advice

What we don't do

  • Promote fake "diet pills"
  • Tell you to do something that doesn't work
  • Make you buy expensive or unnecessary products
  • Give favorable reviews to companies that pay us
